Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a point-and-click survival horror video game played by Markiplier. Although a sequel to Five Nights at Freddy's, the game chronologically takes place before the events of the first game. It is followed by Five Nights at Freddy's 3.

Plot[]

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 takes place in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza when it opened up in 1987 (as confirmed by the paycheck received after Night Five). The classic animatronics debut as their original versions, before being remade into the models from the first game. They are used for parts to service the new toy animatronics. These new animatronics are equipped with the latest in facial-recognition technology, rendering the establishment "the safest place on Earth," according to Phone Guy. The minigames reveal the dark backstory of the restaurant.

Gameplay[]

Similarly to Five Nights at Freddy's, the player must survive a night shift at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, from 12 A.M. to 6 A.M. in-game hours (approximately 7 minutes and 6 seconds in real time) without being attacked by any of the animatronic enemy characters (11 enemies in total) that wander from room to room. The player cannot leave the security office, but can track the animatronics' movements via a network of surveillance cameras placed throughout the building. The office has three entrances, a hallway and two side air vents; In a departure from the previous game, none of these can be sealed off to block enemies from entering. Each vent is equipped with a light that can be used to check for any characters that are about to crawl into the office. The only defense the player has against the animatronics is an animatronic mask crafted after Freddy Fazbear's head to fool the animatronics into thinking they are one themselves, and a music box that must be wound up through one of the cameras to avoid the Puppet, which is cannot be fooled by the Fazbear head.
